This Must Be The Place

There’s no place like home. It’s where we live, work and dream. It’s our sanctuary and our refuge. We can love them or hate them. It can be just for the night or for the rest of our lives. But whoever we may be, we all have a place we call home.

THIS MUST BE THE PLACE is a series of short films, portraits and photos that explore the idea of home; what makes them, how they represent us, why we need them.

Check out the series here.

We’re so used to portraits where nothing moves. This series gives you the experience of people and their rich stories of place in motion. It beautifully humanizes the richness of our lives — putting us on common ground.
— Albert Maysles
This Must Be the Place is a beautifully crafted documentary series about place and belonging. We’re thrilled to be able to feature these stories of unique characters and intriguing places on The Atlantic’s video channel.
